Colorado Fall Colors - 2005

These photos are actully from mid-September 2005 - but since I wasn't posting then, I though I'd put them up - 'cause they're so great (not to be self-aggrandizing or anything) :-)

They were taken on Kebler Pass between Somerset and Crested Butte, Colorado
Really, I have to mostly give God credit for these photos, 'cause I just pushed the button. These were taken on actual 35mm film with a point-and-shoot camera, then scanned.
Here's my brother and nephew. I absolutly love this picture!

Atmospheric Perspective

This is also a photo of the Olympic Mountians. I decided to post it because I've gotten a lot of positive comments on it. It is taken facing west (toward the ocean) from near the top of Hurrican Ridge. I actually took it because it is such a classic example of how the mountains look lighter the further away they are - that is, atmospheric perspective. My plan is to try to do a watercolor painting of this scene - that's actually why I took the picture.
