Portrait of a Young Pomegranate

This is one of my favorite art photographs. I love the colors and textures, and the sharp focus of the fruit against the out of focus background. And the flower/fruit itself is so facinating, with such rich, supple flesh. I also like calling it "Portrait of a Young Pomegranate" - that makes it even better in my mind :-)

Granada is the name of this fruit, en espanol. Si? The city, Granada, is named after the fruit (which grows all over Andalusia). The French called the fruit Pome de Granada. The English used the French term to create Pomegranate.
