The Olympic Peninsula

Returned last week from a nice vacation to Washington and Oregon with my friend Ruth. We got to visit lots of friends and see lots of beautiful country.

This is my favorite art photo from the trip:

It was taken at Dungeness Spit on July 11. I have a thing for taking macro shots of rocks and flowers and plants. Thankfully, my digital camera has a GREAT macro lense.
Here's two photos just to show the landscape of the Olympic National Park.

A Field of Lupine Flowers with the Olympic Mountains in the Distance - taken from Hurricane Ridge (Ruth actually took this photo)

Moss Covered Trees in the Ho Rainforest on the West Side of Olympic National Park. They get over 140 inches of rain per year - wow!

I really like the photo of the tree - and I'm glad you're doing an art blog. I'll have to bug you to keep it up.
